In 1984, CECI became one of the first international organizations to sign an MOU with the Guinean authorities. CECI-Guinea started out focusing on the formal education sector. From 1988 on, CECI’s work in Guinea has revolved around sustainable economic development in rural areas, governance and a capacity-building strategy for civil society organizations, with particular focus on promoting human rights, governance and gender equality in communities located in mining areas. CECI-Guinea has also made significant accomplishments in the fishing industry.
