On April 20, 2024, friends of CECI will gather at Parc Jean-Drapeau to run 5, 10 or 21 km in support of our sustainable development projects around the world. The event aims to raise funds to support women's leadership in vulnerable communities, so that women and girls can take their place in climate change adaptation, school access and entrepreneurship. By becoming inspirational leaders, they contribute to the development of their families and communities, and pave the way for social change.
"Today, young girls are managing to become entrepreneurs, especially in a sector dominated by men. Women have played a big role in this transformation. We can do what men can. This project has enabled me to be independent, to be a role model for young girls."
Aïcha Bérété, Director of Batouly Prestations – Guinea
"The project brought us together! It increased the cooperative's agricultural capacity, which enabled us to offer more services to the community. It also enabled women to be more valued within their community, their cooperative and in the eyes of their husbands. CECI's strength lies in its involvement in the community and in respecting its commitments."
Oscar Marie Anglesanne, AVETI project participant – Haiti
Aïcha and Oscar Marie are two of our many project participants. Over the past 65 years, CECI has helped improve the living conditions of over 30 million people, more than half of whom are women.
